2010 is starting out to be one of the greatest years! I went on this field trip about nature and the Ohlone Indians. Can you believe it? This assistant, or, as they call themselves, docents, told our whole class that the Ohlone Indians lived in the woods ( the '' Sunol Wilderness'') for 12oo years! Can you believe it? Nancy, our docent, told us to think about your great-great grandmother. She lived about maybe in the 1800's or more. Nancy said,'' Those years of your great-great grandmother was the year when the Spanish traveled to the Sunol Wilderness and gave them a bunch of food and clothing.'' The way I think about the Indian word clothing, I think about the male Indians hunting deer and using their skin for warmth. My friend told Nancy that she was part-Indian, and so was her twin. Nancy commented,''Great,'' as she was passing out some pinecone-seed necklace. She said it was what Indians wore; the woman Indians. This girl named Makena was picked to dress up like an Indian. There were tule skirts, and deer skin coats. That was pretty much it. A chaperone kept taking pictures and pictures. Nancy picked a boy named Jackson to become an Indian man for anout 5 minutes.
